Eid Make-up Tips | A Dewy Look this Eid | The Striving Muslimah Blog

After fasting for the entire month, eid is finally here, while we are sorry to see Ramadan leave, we can’t help reveling in the spirit of Eid. The family gatherings, lunches and the happy times. But let’s face it, you got to bed late and you are up at the crack of dawn, you are not looking your best, so what do you do?

What looks best on Eid is a simple, flawless, natural makeup. You should definitely go for the dewy look.

What’s a dewy look?

In simple words, a dewy look is characterized by luminous skin, even skin tone and just the right amount of shine. It’s the natural makeup go-to look of all time. Simple, youthful and fresh!

To take you through this, we have a bunch of tips that will come in handy. Scroll to the end of the page to see the products mentioned.

1. Start:

Start with CSTM: i.e., Cleansing, Scrubbing, Toning and Moisturizing your face.

Why?

Because the most important thing for the dewy look to achieve its best effect is skin that looks healthy and fresh.

2. Prime:

The next thing to remember is that you want to be using a primer, because it acts as a barrier between your skin and makeup and fills in all those lines and wrinkles, so that your makeup glides on effortlessly, without looking patchy and chalky.

My personal favorite is the Bodyography primer; I love its soft buttery feel and the way it glides onto skin. NYX and Inglot also have amazing primers.

Tip!

The trick in applying it, is to dot it all over your face and then blend it in using your fingers, because it warms the product and it sinks into your skin.

3. Tint it Right!

A dewy look will be perfect to make you look fresh and alluring. To achieve this, chuck the foundation and go for the tinted moisturizer or the bb creams. There is a lot of range in here, like lotus herbals tinted moisturizers, Garnier bb creams, Maybelline bb creams etc.

If you really need coverage, mix a bit of your regular foundation with the tinted moisturizer.

4. Blush and Highlight!

Apply a pink blush; NYX has some amazing cream blushes at affordable prices, Blend in a hint of liquid highlighter to achieve sheen.

Tip!

I recommend using a cream blush as it blends in more effectively and adds to the dewy look.

5. Lips

Your lipstick should last at least a few good hours, so be sure to fill in your lips with a neutral lip pencil, before you go for the lipstick. The lip-gloss will greatly add to your dewy look, so make sure that it’s light and watery and a very good quality one!

6. Eye-Shadow

Stick to eye shadows that are neutral and not too loud. Go for the gold or metallic ones but make sure you don’t over do it.

There are so many options for a neutral eye shadow pallete; you could opt for NYX natural eye shadow, Maybelline Diamond Glow eye shadow palette Copper Brown, shades from the urban decay naked pallete.

Finish it off!

Set your makeup in place with compact – but don’t go overboard with this, as it might mattify (i.e., make glowless) your whole look, which you don’t want!

Happy Eid!
