Chilli-packed Eye-Watering Burger Eating Challenge
Flipping through an in-flight magazine with my daughter beside; our eyes caught sight of this chilli-packed eye-watering burger eating challenge - it’s a burger so spicy that you need to sign a legal waver before even taking as much as a small bite of it.
Anyone who clears the plate within 30 minutes gets the burger free (Dhs. 60) and goes on, “The Wall of Flame” - even the man who prepared the burger won’t go near it!
“It’s too hot for me,” says Chef Sunil Anandan who spent a whole month sourcing chillis from all over the planet and perfecting the recipe. “I have tasted it but I can’t finish it.” he admits.
What makes this burger so spicy?
Claimed to be the region’s spiciest burger, The Qube Inferno Burger, made up of 100% freshly ground beef, a mix of chillies from around the world; including homegrown UAE chillies, chopped Birds Eye chillies from India and Sri Lanka, flaked Cayenne Pepper and also chocolate Habanero chillies.
Chillis are graded by heat on the Scoville Scale
Chocolate Habenero are rated at a massive 400,000 (100 times hotter than jalapeno)
Birds Eye at around 100,000
and both of these are in this Qube Inferno Burger
As if that’s not enough, the burger contains lava sauce prepared with a red-hot selection of chillies from across south-east Asia.
No part of the burger is left without a kick of heat; even the toasted sesame seed-bun has an infusion of scotch bonnet chilli oil and chilli seeds.
…only two of the 20 who sampled it during testing have been able to complete the challenge so far.
